Thursday 30th June 2005 OPENNING OF THE AGBU CENTENNIAL WORLDWIDE FESTIVITIES
The opening of the AGBU Centennial Worldwide Festivities will take place in April 2006 during Easter weekend, in Cairo. So come and enjoy the sun, the sea and sightseeing with the worldwide AGBU family in the land where the AGBU was born one hundred years ago. This opening will be enhanced by the presence of the President and members of the Central Board of AGBU.
On this unique occasion a two part programme will begin on Wednesday 12th April and end on Saturday 22nd April. Each part has a separate participation fee. Feel free to select the parts that suit you most, according to your choice.
PART I This part will cover the official celebrations of the Centennial of the AGBU. It will start on Wednesday 12th and will last to Easter Sunday April 16th in Cairo, with a bonus one day trip to Alexandria on Monday 17th.
Part I will include the Easter Mass, a formal banquet, a conference tackling some concerns of the AGBU, an exhibition of photos and books, a cultural event of high standard, a dinner on a Nile Cruise, together with visits to the pyramids of Giza, the stepped pyramid of Saqqara, the Egyptian museum and other activities.
PART II This part will start on Tuesday 18th to Saturday 22nd. The participants will have the choice between two options.
Option I A visit to Luxor, the city of the Pharaohs. Once there, you will see the Luxor and Karnak temples, the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and many other unique vestiges of the great Pharaonic civilization.
Option II A relaxing period at one of the luxurious Red Sea resorts, in Sharm El Sheikh (Sinai) which is known for its sandy beaches, coral reefs and large variety of colourful fish. A paradise for suntan and snorkeling.
This wonderful sojourn will come to an end, on Saturday 22nd April.
