Organization

Managing and successfully completing major and minor projects in Armenia is the main purpose of the long established AGBU Yerevan and recently Stepanakert salaried office staff lead by their director Mr Ashot Ghazarian. Also, the AGBU throughout the long years of its existence has accumulated the expertise and knowledge necessary for running successful projects, harnessing the professional expertise available to it throughout the global AGBU such as lawyers, architects, engineers of all disciplines and doctors etc.

AGBU London's Pareshen project is a part of the global AGBU Centennial Initiative for the repopulation of Artsakh. Mr Levon Kebabdjian, a Director of the Central Board, is the Programme Director overseeing and co-ordinating the efforts of the AGBU chapters taking part.

Mr Levon Kebabdjian, a native of Paris, has been involved in Armenian community service for the past 25 years, mostly within the ranks of the AGBU.

From 1990 until 1996, Mr. Kebabdjian served as President of the AGBU Regional Committee of France. It was during his tenure that the AGBU Saturday School was launched in Paris along with La Lettre de l’UGAB, a publication that was widely circulated not only within the French Armenian community but also among top government offices and institutions. Mr. Kebabdjian has been serving on the AGBU Central Board since 1992.

Mr. Kebabdjian is also a founding member of the GIIA (French Armenian Business Council) as well as one of the founding members of the April 24 Committee whose diligent work led to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by France on January 18, 2000.

In January 2003, French President Jacques Chirac awarded Mr. Kebabdjian the rank of Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur. In May 2003, President of Karabagh, Arkady Ghoukassian, awarded the Medal of Appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Kebabdjian for their humanitarian work in Artsakh.
